Call for Standing Committee Candidates admin, March 18, 2026 The Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference is delighted to announce a call for two members to join the Standing Committee. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a large disciplinary ECR network, contribute to the future of TRAC and its new directions, and provide service to peers in the field. Expressions of interest are welcome both for an Ordinary TRAC SC member with the primary remit to assist with running the organisation of webinars, conferences and TRAC workshops, and for the position of the Chair of the TRAC Standing Committee. The Chair is responsible for the overall management of the activity of the Standing Committee and for liaising with our external partners and participating in the meetings of the Roman Archaeology Committee of the Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies. TRAC SC members are elected for a term of three years, and each member may hold their position for up to two terms. All candidates must be able to commit to an estimated equivalent of four weeks of full time work, spread throughout the year. Candidates must be able to attend the yearly TRAC and RAC/TRAC conference, as well as online Standing Committee meetings, which are held approximately six times throughout the year. Candidates interested in applying should send a paragraph-long motivation statement and CV to the TRAC e-mail address: trac.stancomm@gmail.com by May 1st 2026. Elections will be held during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at RAC/TRAC 2026 in Aarhus. Shortlisted candidates will have ca. five minutes to convey to the TRAC community their qualifications and why they would be a suitable TRAC SC member. A pre-recorded statement can be submitted if previous engagements do not permit in-person attendance. If you require any further information, or have any inquiries regarding the TRAC standing committee roles, please email our current Chair at anna.walas@sas.ac.uk.
